tree

…from Lensculture.com:

Myoung Ho Lee, a young artist from South Korea, has produced an elaborate series of photographs that pose some unusual questions about representation, reality, art, environment and seeing.

Simple in concept, complex in execution, he makes us look at a tree in its natural surroundings, but separates the tree artificially from nature by presenting it on an immense white ground, as one would see a painting or photograph on a billboard.

One of Emily Higginson’s wonderful photos on flickr. The series has a great title, The Danger of Power, and this photo is called, Water. Higginson says the series, “is devoted to the work of a painter and poet Michael Robinson. I recently came across some of his work and had to stop myself from weeping in public because I was so moved from it.”

This is “Water”

The earth never offered man
Water
As a gift.

Water was part of her
It is her blood

And in this, she said
You will see your greed
Your mistakes
Your image
But few will see me.

- Michael Robinson

a beautiful pic of a learning environment: a Beluga whale and a Chinese kid.

We don’t need another photograph. Every tick of the clock is a ‘Kodak moment’ thanks to digital cameras and cell phones. And it seems every picture taken is worth sharing with Flickr, PhotoBucket, etc. Maybe Adobe could add to Photoshop a Photostop button.

So take a breath and look at a good photo. I’m happy to say it was taken by my brother John when he was in Hong Kong. The pic is called ‘Temple’.
